Moments - Vicky Alberto

Hi everyone, Im on the blog today to show you my take on this months sketch but to also remind you this is the last weekend to work on getting your Design Team application in (closes Sept 30th)

This month I was very inspired to use my absolute favourite Dusty Attic chipboard set for my sketch layout - the skeleton clock faces (DA0430). I never get tired of creating with these gorgeous clocks - and you get 4 in the set! I also used a newer piece for the "moments" title from the last chipboard release. There are six gorgeous large script titles in the word pack #4 (DA1077).

Here is a close-up view. I wanted a matte and rustic look so I simply used gesso on the bare clocks and distress ink on the title - leaving some of the bare chipboard showing.

Remember to enter your interpretation of this beautiful sketch for a chance to win some chipboard goodness! Just link to the top right side of the DA blog to enter your project.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

The Bollards - Heather McMahon

Hi there,

It's Heather McMahon with you today with my September sketch layout.
Here's the sketch. It's another beauty!

And here's my layout:

I love the circular element in the sketch. I created mine with gesso and stitching. I went crazy with stamping, in both black and white ink.

All the chipboard pieces have been spray-painted white. I find this much quicker than hand-painting them all with a brush.
The background paper is the only paper on this page. All the other elements are created with stamping, stitching, painting, thickers and, of course, lots of lovely chippies!

Dusty Attic chipboard used:
Chevron Panel Large
Page Pebbles #1
Trellis Small
Pointer Tags
Him & Her Border
Seagulls
I hope you can join in the sketch challenge this month
( WHY NOT DO IT THIS WEEKEND ?)

Remember we have the Design Team call ending on the 30th September as well

Happy scrappin'!

Coffee in Cartlton - Heather McMahon

Hello again. It's Heather McMahon back with you today.
My layout this month came together in an interesting way. My sort-of-sister-in-law (it's complicated!) sent me this photo of my daughter, niece and mother-in-law from her phone with the title 'Coffee in Carlton'. I loved the photo and the title and used them both on this layout straight away!

I used lots of different Dusty Attic chippies on this. I kept most of them bare to match the gorgeous 7 Dots papers. I added some brown ink to the Viewfinders and used Tinby Metallic Melts on the main words of the title.

The Typewriter alphas matched the feel of the page perfectly and I mixed it up with some word tiles for the smaller word.

The geometric shapes are just pieces left over from other projects. They were great for tucking in around the photo.

Dusty Attic products used:
Typewriter ABC Set

Tile ABC Set

Love This, Love That Arrows

Him & Her Border

Geometric Panel

Mini Cameras
Viewfinders
I love creating pages where just a few simple treatments can transform some of the chippies. And I love leaving some bare too!

Happy scrappin'!  Heather
